To accomplish our conservation mission, BVAS may utilize some or all of the following strategies:
- Engage at the local level on land use planning issues.
- Review, analyze, and comment on local EIRs.
- Participate on special committees to address specific proposed plans with regional significance (i.e. GP 20/20, North County MHCP, etc.)
- Meet regularly with regional and municipal planners to discuss proposed projects.
- Participate in a coalition of non-profit organizations to develop and implement a coordinated regional conservation strategy.
- Meet regularly with state and federal resource and regulatory agencies to discuss local conservation issues.
- Support state, national, and international conservation causes.
- Communicate BVAS positions to elected officials and regulatory agencies via phone trees, e-mail, and letter writing campaigns.
